Step 1: Sign in to the Avast for Business portal and access your list of devices

First, sign in to Avast for Business (https://business.avast.com) and once the portal loads, click on 'Network' in the sidebar.
Step 2: Access the device on which you wish to run the boot-time scan
Click on 'Devices' under 'Network' and then click on the device for which you wish to initiate the boot-time scan.

Step 3: Begin task creation for the selected device
In the upper right of the device panel, click 'Create a task'

Now, click 'Scan device' to bring up the task options for that category -- in other words, the types of scan tasks available that you can create. Then, select 'boot-time scan' in the option list. You can optionally name the scan if you wish.
Step 5: Set additional parameters for the boot-time scan
Optionally, you can adjust several settings that are available for the boot-time scan. Of particular importance is the option entitled 'Restart the device now.' This will push the boot scan immediately to the selected device and prompt the user beforehand so they can save their work. If this is unchecked, the scan will begin on the next restart/reboot.
Step 6: Save the task
Head to the bottom of the boot-time scan options page and click 'Start scan.' This will create the task, and you're all set!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been searching for a cure to this pesky virus attack for 2 days and was about to give up and call a repair service. I tried 9 different virus/malware programs. 2 found the error and said nothing was needed. 1 found the error but failed to remove it. I tried Avast which said there was no error but, I didn't think about running the boot scan until I saw your article. It worked!!!!!
Sadly, the fix lasted less than 24 hours and the virus returned. :(
