God Of War Black Rune
Mar 02, 2019 Welcome to IGN’s Walkthrough for God of War. This page contains information on the tenth step of your Journey - The Black Rune - which will include paths to. The Black Rune sees Kratos and Atreus venturing into the Tyr’s Vault area of God of War, where they’ll have to solve several complex puzzles in order to recover the special rune. The protection rings are gone and the Black Rune sits on the ground in the center. Take the chain down to the bottom and head over to the Black Rune, finally retrieving it. As you may expected, Týr has one final trial to overcome, a pair of Trolls.
God Of War Black Rune Glitch
To deactivate the vault’s defences in The Black Rune in The Journey throw the blades of chaos at the jewel on the outer ring and carry the winds of hell to the sphere mounted in one of the rooms and transfer the winds of hell to the sphere:

Go into the room and use the wheel. Run through the periodic gap between the first two wheels. Wait for the gap between the second set of wheels to be on the lower right and roll through. Wait for the next wheel to be in the top right and throw the axe at the white disk on the shaft of the wheel to freeze it in place:

Wait for the wheel behind it to leave a gap and roll through. Lift the door to the main area and go back out.
Get the winds of hell from the second ring and transfer them into the mounted sphere in the room you have just come out of and use the wheel. Freeze the first spikes in the top position and time a roll into the gap in the right wall. Wait for a free path and roll out of the gap to the next room.
Exit the room back into the main area. Climb up to the upper level using the wall. Once you are at the top find and drop the chain down. Go around the walkway until you can see the jewel in the inside ring. Transfer the winds of hell from the inner to the outer ring:

God Of War Black Rune Riddle
Go back down to the lower area using the chain and transfer the winds of hell from the outer ring into the mounted sphere in the last room and use the wheel.
Use the middle lever to move the symbols left and use the left lever to lower the moon:
Move all symbols to the left and lower the moon to deactivate the vault’s defences in The Black Rune in The Journey.
Use the middle lever to move the sun and the disc to the right. Use the right lever to lower the sun. Use the left lever to raise the moon and then the middle lever to move the disc to the middle. Use the right lever to raise the sun:
Alfheim Rune Chest Puzzle Solution in God of War
While God of War is filled with plenty of intense combat and gripping fight scenes, it isn’t always about bashing skulls. More often than not, players will stumble across different enigmas and riddles they’ll have to solve with their head and not their fists. One good example is the Alfheim Rune Chest puzzle, also dubbed as the Nornir chest, located in the Ringed Temple Trench area. To unlock the chest, you’ll have to find and break its corresponding runes. If you’re having trouble, here’s how you can solve the puzzle and collect your reward.
- First Rune – Look for a wheel across the rune chest. Use it to gain access to the lowest level of the area and look for a cog you can freeze with your axe. From there, turn around and you should see the rune hanging from a ledge.
- Second Rune – Use the wheel to lower all the platforms again. Make sure to freeze the cog with your axe and head to the middle platform. Recall your axe and keep an eye out on the third platform. As it begins to rise, look for the rune on the right side. Destroy it with a ranged strike.
- Third Rune – Lower the platforms using the wheel, freeze the cog again, and wait by the edge of the middle platform. Turn around to face the first platform and recall your axe. As the platform begins to rise, you’ll find the rune stuck to the wall.
